2020 Pool Opening
Several weeks ago, we communicated to you that we could not commit to a firm opening pool date due to the current crisis. As promised, we have continued to review guidance and observe the gradual reopening of the state. Currently, we are announcing the initial opening of the Liberty Square Pool for 2020. The pool will open on June 20th.
This year, we will have some extremely specific new rules posted due to the current recommendations. These rules are:
- INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE A FEVER OR OTHER SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 SHALL NOT ENTER THE POOL AREA.
- GOOD HAND HYGIENE, INCLUDING HAND WASHING OR HAND SANITATION, IS REQUIRED.
- HANDSHAKING AND UNNECESSARY PERSON-TO-PERSON CONTACT IS PROHIBITED.
- SOCIAL DISTANCING OF NON-COHABITATING PERSONS IS REQUIRED.
- POOL CHAIRS WILL BE PLACED SIX FEET APART WHICH WILL BE MARKED ON THE POOL DECK. IF YOU MOVE A CHAIR TO SIT NEXT TO A COHABITATING PERSON, PLEASE RETURN THE CHAIR TO ITS ORIGINAL PLACEMENT.
- RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SANITIZE ALL POOL EQUIPMENT TOUCHED BEFORE AND AFTER USE.
- POOL TOYS AND FLOATS ARE PROHIBITED.
- NO GUESTS ARE ALLOWED. POOL USAGE IS FOR LIBERTY SQUARE RESIDENTS ONLY.
- POOL HOURS WILL BE 10AM – 8PM
As there is inherent risk to using any public facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic, residents choosing to utilize the pool facilities are acknowledging the following risk, which will be clearly posted at the entrance:
ALL PERSONS ENTERING THESE FACILITIES ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT BY ENTERING AND UTILIZING THESE FACILITIES, THEY MAY COME INTO CONTACT WITH CORONAVIRUS, SARS-COV-2 AND COVID-19, AND PERSONS WHO HAVE CONTRACTED SAME. ALL PERSONS ENTERING THESE FACILITIES FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT BY ENTERING, UTILIZING AND OCCUPYING THESE FACILITIES, THEY MAY CONTRACT CORONAVIRUS, SARS-COV-2 AND COVID-19, WHICH IS KNOWN TO CAUSE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS, PNEUMONIA, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, AND DEATH. BY ENTERING, UTILIZING AND OCCUPYING THESE FACILITIES, ALL PERSONS DO SO AT THEIR OWN SOLE VOLITION AND RISK HAVING FULL KNOWLEDGE OF THE RISKS INHERENT IN ENTERING AND UTILIZING THESE FACILITIES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
The ban on visitors and pool floats is unique to this year and is an unfortunate consequence of the pandemic. Pool floats include such “water toy” items as floating loungers, pool noodles, inflatable tubes, etc. Floats such as life jackets or vests intended to assist in the buoyancy of children will still be allowed. Please also minimize the number of items you bring to the pool area with you.
We ask that you please abide by these new rules, as well as the following existing pool rules:
Liberty square residents acknowledge having received a key for usage of the pool and tennis court amenities and acknowledge the following are the accepted rules for usage of those areas:
- Glass is not allowed in the pool area
- No skateboards, bikes, skates, etc. are allowed in the pool or tennis court areas
- The pool & tennis gates are to be kept closed at all times
- All entries shall be made by key only. Residents are not to allow entry for those without a working key
- Within the pool area, all children under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult
- Climbing /Jumping the fence for pool access is not allowed
- No animals are allowed within the pool or tennis court excepting those animals designated as service animals
- Residents are expected to be respectful & courteous of other people. Specifically, when utilizing the amenities during late hours residents are expected to be mindful of noise. Noise complaints will be made to City of Acworth Police if required.
Residents found to be non-compliant with these rules shall be subject to the following actions:
- First offense: Written notification of violation
- Second Offense: Fine of between $25-$100 dependent upon violation
- Third Offense: Revoked amenity access
Pool keys will not be exchanged this year in order to avoid unnecessary person to person contact. If you have last year’s amenity key, it will work this year. If you did not receive a key last year or have lost it, please contact Chardon Wyatt at [email protected] or 678-393-2202 to arrange to receive a key.
Meeting Minutes from HOA Meeting 3/5/2020
5 officers from Acworth PD came by to give us an update on the zone patrols and some tips for staying safe.
(1) Lock your doors and do not leave valuables in plain sight in your vehicle
(2) Communicate any suspicious incidents to the police immediately as waiting can cause a lag in response time and cause the suspect to get away
(3) Speak with your neighbors about any new or suspicious behavior
(4) Keep a record of all serial numbers for valuables or firearms. If they are stolen, give that information to the police immediately so they can track the items if they are pawned
(5) Add your Ring camera to the camera network so that the Police can ask for pieces of video for a specific time
(6) Try to gather as much descriptive information as you can about what you see. The more information handed to the authorities, the better chance they have to catch the perpetrator
(7) Any cars parked in the front entrance driveway should have the Acworth PD called immediately to report them.
(8) Check out FlockSafety.com – these are stationary cameras that read every license plate tag that passes by. There is one right outside our neighborhood.

For any issues with the homeless camp population next to 75, contact the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office at 770-382-5050.
It is also important to contact the Bartow County Commissioner to air out all concerns you may have.
For fencing requests for those homes that back up to the area next to 75, please send requests through Team Management to the ARC Committee with an explanation that it is for safety purposes.
The board will discuss and review costs for putting in flood lighting behind the front row of townhomes that backs up to the Ingles land as it is very dark back there.
Meeting with Acworth PD – March 5, 2020
There have been at least two recent reports of a group of young men roaming the neighborhood in the early hours of the morning (generally between 2-6 am) and breaking into cars. On at least one occasion, at least one of these men was observed to be armed.
We understand that these events have rightly caused some uneasiness in the neighborhood, so we have been in touch with the Acworth police department to establish some special zone patrols for the next few weeks. The police have also offered to speak with our residents to describe their strategy and answer any questions that we may have.
We therefore invite all residents to attend a special meeting at the Liberty Square Clubhouse on March 5th at 7PM. Community outreach officer Corporal Yolanda Macintosh will be available for a question and answer session and the HOA board of directors will be available to discuss any issues residents may have, as well as potential actions we may be able to take as a community.
We would also like to remind you that you can take some actions to help the Acworth Police Department in maintaining safety and order:
1. If you have a camera installed at your home, such as a ring doorbell camera, you may register the camera with the Acworth PD. This does not give them access to your cameras, but adds to their database of citizen cameras by area so that if a crime is committed near your home they can contact you to request footage from your camera. 2. Make sure to keep your car doors locked and do not leave valuables in your car.
3. If you must leave valuables in the car, make sure they are not visible from outside the vehicle
4. If have motion sensing lights installed at your home, ensure they are turned on at night.
We are sorry to have to deliver this news, but information is power and the more our residents know about the issue, the more vigilant we can all be.

Potentially Abandoned Car at Mailboxes
There is a green Toyota in one of the parking spaces near the mailbox with no tag that has not moved in several weeks. Acworth police have checked and cannot find a registered owner for the vehicle, indicating the vehicle is potentially abandoned. If this is your car or you know who it belongs to, please notify us immediately or the vehicle will be towed.
If this vehicle does belong to someone, We would appreciate that you place this vehicle in your garage, as the street parking near the mailbox is not to be used as long term parking/storage.

Did you miss 2019 amenity key exchange?
If you missed exchanging your old pool & tennis key at one of the three scheduled times, a limited number of keys are available for exchange on an APPOINTMENT ONLY BASIS in the neighborhood through mid June. Please contact Chardon Wyatt at Team Management to arrange a date and time.
Be advised that you must exchange last year’s pool key and be current on your dues in order to receive a new key. If you do not have let year’s key, you may receive a new key by paying $20 by check made out to Liberty Square HOA.

Potentially abandoned vehicle in Liberty Square
There is a red car(with an expired tag) parked in 2 parking spaces by the mailboxes. It has been there for quite a few weeks. If you or someone you know owns this vehicle, please be advised that if it is not moved, it will be towed.
